![]() This hummus forced me out of my "hummus-laziness." I was buying sriracha hummus from Trader Joe's for the longest time because it was easy and my life can sometimes get pretty hectic. (Plus, they stopped carrying it.) However, I realized the fresh, homemade version tastes even better. You can adjust the seasonings however you like and the end product will be for your taste buds only, unless you dare share this deliciousness. It's filled with lots of fiber, protein, vitamin C, manganese, folate, copper, phosphorus and healthy fat.
Ingredients: 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed 2 T tahini 3/4 t sea salt Juice from 2 lemons 1 clove garlic or 1/2 t garlic powder 1 1/2 T sriracha (or more if you like is spicier) 1/4 t cumin 1/4 c evoo 1/4 c water Directions: 1. Place all ingredients in food processor or Vitamix and blend until smooth. 2. Serve with veggies or plantain chips. Yum!
